Valentin's Tribute!

Our first employee of the month that we would like to give tribute to is Valentin. He is a maintenance/bellhop/front desk/romance package setter upper/ everything fixer/chocolate king around here. He basically does a little of everything! Valentin, aka Val, started working at Hotel La Rose 14 years ago! He is an extremely treasured part of our staff and our guests love him, too! He can usually be found running around between our Main Building and Carriage House, carrying extra towels, ice buckets or chocolate covered strawberries to our happy guests. He is also an immeasurable source of wealth of information about the maintenance of a hotel and is always able to fix anything! He is known for his absolutely epic fedora hat, his mustache and jolly smile that is right underneath!

Val, what is your favorite memory about Hotel La Rose?

My favorite memories are when I used to do breakfast. Sometimes, people would come down to eat and they were grouchy because they were still tired and had some traveling to do that day. I love the challenge of turning a person’s frown into a smile and I think that is my favorite part of my job. I also will never forget the 100 year celebration that we had about three years ago. That day, I inherited the fedora hat and I still wear it every day!

I love room 36 the most. The room is in the perfect location, with a little bit of view but plenty of privacy. The room has a comfortable feel and you just feel like you are in your own house!

What do you think guests should know about Hotel La Rose?

I think guests should know that we are ALWAYS here to help. At Hotel La Rose, we care about our guests more than anything. From the time guests call the hotel, we know that they are the sole reason for why we have the pleasure of working here. Without them, we have nothing. We are like a bed and breakfast inn; we are able to get to know our guests really well which is really nice. I love working here, and I think me being here all these years truly shows it!
